Abstract

The issue of Kosovo, although it was solved during the communist system in the former Yugoslavia of  Tito, with the advancement of the Albanians rights within the yugoslav federation in that time, however did not meet the requirements and also the expectations of Albanians to be equal with the other peoples of the former Yugoslavia. Albanians movements for freedom continued over the years and were intensified especially after the collapse of the state of Yugoslavia, which was followed by the loss of many human lives and extensive economic damage, consequences which are observed to the present day.

The abolition of Kosovo's autonomy in 1989 by Serbia led by a dictatorial regime, Kosovo lost a status of a constitutive element of the former federation that guaranteed the right of veto, with which marked the final collapse of the Kosovo autonomy. The dampened violence that followed by killing of hundreds of Albanian civilians and the imprisonment of thousands of others were widely covered in the Western press, which marked the beginning of the internationalization of the issue of Kosovo in the World.

Apartheid established by the Serbian government, numerous demonstrations and lastly the beginning of the armed struggle, with footage of the killings in Kosovo villages, children's images of dead and missing, and the mass exodus of the civilian population deported violently with trains or barefoot, Repair emitted in the most prestigious international media, reminded the world of its fresh history, the Holocaust.

All these events each in its own way, contributed to the internationalization of the Kosovo issue being turned into a Western diplomatic priority was politically engaged through the Rambouillet Conference and militarily intervening in the bombing of Serbia by NATO aviation’s.
