Abstract
Productivity is defined as the goal of achieving the highest possible output with the least input in an organization. Productivity of the firm, has been the subject on numerous research topics. Previous studies investigations examined the productivity of the firms, in terms of the relation of employees working conditions. These conditions include employee’s welfare which has also been the subject of numerous discussions. These employee’s welfare nowadays is one of the most important tools for organizations to achieve today's intense “war for talent”.
In addition to the studies on the assumption that how physical, economic and psychological improvements in working conditions have a direct positive effect on operational productivity, and the interaction of these two factors is investigated. In fact, productivity and employee welfare are two variables that feed each other and have a mutual cause and effect relationship. By improving the working conditions, firms can increase the productivity of their operations and by implementing right practices will increase the productivity will positively affect the welfare of the employees.
In this study, it is examined the interaction and simultaneous development of productivity and welfare of the employees using the concept of Ton’s (2014) Good Jobs Strategy. Within the framework of this strategy, the relationship between productivity and employee welfareis evaluated. With the data collected from the employees by using quantitative research method, it is investigated how the employees perceive the effect of operational productivity improvement activities on employee welfare.
