Expectations of Personnel Working in The Furniture Sector From an Engineer (A Case Study)

Abstract

The engineer is a person who gives acceleration for his/her institution. With the developing world, the expectations of the private sector from the engineers are increasing day by day. Engineering is the process of producing the necessary technical product and system to meet a specific need. Information is produced very fast in our time, information is reached very fast on the internet, but the measurement of engineering knowledge and skills is carried out on the application field as the information verification filters and methods are not yet in a sufficient level. The object of this study is to reveal the opinions and thoughts of the personnel working in the furniture sector about the expectations from the engineers in order to make the work flow in a quick and safe way.

A survey of two parts was used as a data collection tool. The first part consists of questions prepared to obtain personal information, whereas the second part consists of the questions prepared to determine the opinions and thoughts of the personnel working in the furniture sector about the expectations from the engineers.

In this research, expectations of the furniture enterprises from the engineers were analyzed with SPSS statistical program and presented as comments and suggestions. As a result, an engineer is expected firstly to create an algorithm without making a logic error, and then to reach the target by choosing the appropriate one among the solutions.
