Virtual Reality Aided Teaching Demonstration: A Case of LNU
Abstract
Educational Technology 2 course is a valuable platform for education students to explore 21st century education demands and develop technological knowledge with respect to the TPACK Model. Content and Pedagogical skills have become the highlight of education training institutions, but the global arena stresses ICT competent educators as key players in this new generation of learners. One of the major requirements in this course is a demonstration teaching using advanced technological tools: Virtual Reality. This is a visualization trend which immerses the learners to new level of multimedia experience. However, this advanced tool integrated to instruction has not yet been explored. Thus, this evaluative case study aims to explore the potential of the said tool on quality input retention. Data will be gathered through an in-depth interview and recorded observation. Then, categories will be identified based on the themes that would surface in the transcripts. This study will help assess the effectiveness of virtual reality in the context of classroom instruction for teachers and administrators’ educational decisions on this advanced tool and further hone unique and advance strategies in teaching.
