Place of Africa Policies in the Turkey-European Union Relations: Turkey Perspective

Abstract


After being a member for one year after the establishment of the European Union, Turkey has chosen to follow globalization direction with the multi-faceted policies implemented fully in the process of establishing relationships with countries all over the world instead of returning to Europe, and also in the direction in which the policies of all parties win in this relationship. In this context, Africa policies implemented by Turkey in all areas to support the development of both African countries and also represents the interests of Turkey.

It is possible to observe that, when examining the historical background of Africa, Europe is entitled to exploit the underground and superfluous resources of its countries, living the dominance of colonialism and the great sufferings and civil wars of them, aside from the interests of the African people.

In the study, there will  examine Turkey’s African policies after 2000 who want to develop their institutional relations with Europe how affects its rapidly developing relations with the European Union. In this context, both African society will be examined whether the approach will be considered in their approach to Turkey and the European countries have the negative impact of opening to Africa is in Turkey's troubled EU relations.
