Influence and importance of the game on the child’s development

Abstract


This paper deals with the meaning of the notion ‘’game’’ in general, the advantages that the game has in the children’s development, the importance of the game, the functions of the game and the elements that make children to be involved in the game, the types of games and the influence of each game on psychological development of the child, and also about the way on how does the game affect the relationships of children with other peers and their behaviors that are exposed during the game. The game is an essential component for the best development and education of children. Many psychologists, pedagogues and numerous researchers, who have conducted the investigation on children of the different ages, have estimated that through the game the children become more capable. The game is a child's job, it is the main tool by which a child grows and develops, and it’s the way how the child creates links to the outside world as well as promoters of child welfare by contributing to their overall development.

Skills such as learning the cooperation are developed during the game and as a result children acquire the roles and rules of the society. The game enables the acquisition of the children’s social and moral norms in the family, school and community. The game engages the body and mind by developing the ability of the child to think creatively, to work as a team member, and to follow the rules.
