The influence of Learning Styles in Improving English Foreign Language Learning

Abstract


Based on the importance of English language in the youngest state of Kosovo, much research has been done to improve the quality of teaching and learning in schools. Differentiated instructions are techniques that are implemented alongside students’ learning styles and individual preferences. Although many researchers have been researched the teaching methodology, very few investigation was done on higher education English foreign language teaching methodology.

Therefore, the study aims to survey the teaching and learning process in secondary schools in Gjakova city, in Kosovo with the purpose on how much do English teachers meet students’ needs and how do they reach their syllabus objectives, with undoubtedly are an integral part of syllabus.

Furthermore, what are the English foreign language teachers’ challenges in mixed ability classes regarding the students’ language level proficiency, were differentiated instruction are unavoidable to be treated. It aims to analyze to what extent are differentiated instruction applied in the English classes and how does it effect on students’ English language improvement.
